Colorado Stream Update: Fish are a little spooky, but there's some good opportunities to be had

Current Conditions at South Boulder Creek:

After a season's pressure fish are becoming more wary. Lower flows on SBC have also made for more tough conditons, however fish are still being caught. Trout have been found both on the surface and below. Princes, PT's, and hare's ears have all been successful. BWO emergers and Caddis patterns should turn a few good fish. Hopper-dropper setups are a good choice, however be sure to run your droppers at appropriate depths. Focus efforts on soft seems, and current breaks as fish should be placed just off the main current. For picky surface fish try a tiny adam's or small royal wulff.

The fly fishing has been great, good hatches of Blue Winged Olives and midges will excite and challenge all levels of anglers. The creek has been on fire! For a nice change of pace try stripping micro black streamers. The best results have been with small black wooly buggers and Belly Ache Minnows.  The fishing is good.  Clear skies and 60+ degree weather. The water temperature was between 56-59 degrees and Crystal Clear.
