Colorado Stream Update: Depth is crucial, fish are still holding deep

Current Conditions at Blue River Below Green Mountain:

The Blue river below Green Mountain is producing, however fish are still slow to eat. Expect the warmest part of the day to be the most successful. Nymphing low and slow on the edges of deep currents is a sure way to find an eat. Although the we are moving towards spring, smaller flies seem to be most consistent. Smaller PT's, hares ears and prince nymphs are good place to start. Depth is crucial, so be sure you are on the bottom. It may be necessary to run a longer leader and more weight.

Fish are still holding near winter lies  The weather is warming up outside and it is beginning to look like spring again!  The fishing is good.  Clear skies and 36-39 degree weather. The water temperature was between 32-35 degrees and Slightly Off.
