Colorado Stream Update: From a selfish perspective, it's hard to tell you all how much I'm loving the Blue below Green Mtn right now....

Current Conditions at Blue River Below Green Mountain:

The trout are a feeding! Caddis, baetis, and midge patterns are all working right now. And with a prime flow of 178cfs all parts of the river are accessible. The trail down is pretty icy so use the rope to lower yourself down. We have noticed that the fishing gets better the further down the canyon you go. And while a lot of the banks and the river bed itself are slippery, if you make the trek downriver you'll be rewarded.

No need to be on the water early, wait for the sun to come up in order to warm up the water temperature. Fishing has been best from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and fly fishing trips have been catching lots of trout. Use a bright colored but small San Juan worm in red or pink to help you see where your flies are drifting. Make sure bring a quality pair of glasses to cut the glare from the snow and sun.  The fishing is fantastic.  Clear skies and 28-31 degree weather. The water temperature was between 36-39 degrees and Crystal Clear.
