Colorado Stream Update: The river is at a perfect flow for a winter drift

Current Conditions at Bighorn:

Sow bugs are a constant in this fishery and that's the case even now in January... orange bead sow bug patterns to be exact. Streamers are also working well here too-- zonkers and zoo cougars being the best. The river is in good shape for drifting and that's exactly what we recommend if possible. Outside of sow bugs, trout are feeding on midges as well when nymphing.

No need to be on the water early, wait for the sun to come up in order to warm up the water temperature. The fish are pooled up right now. Look for fish holding in the slowest and deepest runs and holes in the river. Fly fishing reports are good.  The fishing is good.  Clear skies and 36-39 degree weather. The water temperature was between 36-39 degrees and Crystal Clear.
