Colorado Stream Update: The Big T is shaking off it's winter slumber

Current Conditions at Big Thompson:

Fishing is still best on the lower sections where water is most open. Although there is still ice on the river, it seems as if we are not far out from it being completely ice free. Try running a dry-dropper rig, the sensitivity of the Dry will be a great indicator for small or subtle strikes from slow fish. Still target more traditional winter holes as fish are still lower in the water column.

March is a great time of year for fly fishing! Take advantage of the sunny days most rivers are ice free and the trout bite is on! Make sure your nymph rig is deep enough, find the bottom of the river and fish up.  The fishing is fair.  Clear skies and 36-39 degree weather. The water temperature was between 32-35 degrees and Slightly Off.
