Colorado Stream Update: The road is closed to the tailwater section of the Yampa but if you are willing to walk/bike it is worth the effort.

Current Conditions at Yampa:

If you choose to make the trek to the river make sure you have plenty of midges, scuds and egg patterns. The nymphing has been fantastic and we are also seeing some fish rise to adult midges. A light Pink Scud trailed by an RS2 or Jujubee midge has been working well under an indicator. Find the deeper pockets and pools for the best results. Water levels are low and clear so fish are a little spooky. Be sure to use your stealthy moves when moving around near the water. Small Adams, Roy Palms Midge Emergers and Adult Midge Patterns have all been working for rising fish. For quicker access you can ride a bike or take a snowmobile in from the Sarvis Creek side. Either way give yourself plenty of time to get to the river.

The fishing is good.  Clear skies and 36-39 degree weather. The water temperature was between 36-39 degrees and Crystal Clear.
