Colorado Stream Update: Walker Ranch is a great place to find a bit of solitude and land an 18"er... tough sell, eh?

Current Conditions at South Boulder Creek:

The winter flow on South Boulder Creek below Gross Reservoir is at a perfect 86 CFS and with the warmer temps, Baetis nymphs are really starting to move around! There are various sub-surface patterns that are working well right now-- JuJu Baetis, JuJu Midges, and Rojo Garcia's are working best-- but purple and black colored patterns are extremely effective here right now.

Make sure you are getting a good drag free drift in order to hook fish. Tiny tippets and small midge and mayfly patterns are hooking the most fish. The fish are pooled up right now. Look for fish holding in the slowest and deepest runs and holes in the river. Fly fishing reports are good. The low and clear winter water makes for excellent sight fishing conditions. Make sure bring a quality pair of glasses to cut the glare from the snow and sun. The winter fly fishing in Colorado is great.  The fishing is good.  Clear skies and 56-59 degree weather. The water temperature was between 36-39 degrees and Crystal Clear.
