Colorado Stream Update: The water may be elevated and off-color but don't let that scare you away!

Current Conditions at San Juan:

There is a lot of water flowing out of Navajo Reservoir right now, which unfortunately has made walk-wading very difficult (please use extreme caution if you are wading along the bank) but fishing from a drift boat has been very productive. Of course San Juan Worms are working great here but it will behoove you to either tie/buy them with Chamois-- Shammy worms have been bringing a boat load of trout to net! On overcast days there are decent Blue Wing Olive hatches and trout will rise to a Parachute BWO in slow eddies and pockets. With the stained water clarity it's advisable to use 3x tippet.

Streamer fishing has been productive especially when prospecting from a drift boat or a raft. The water is flowing high make sure to bring a stout rod and heavy nymphs.  The fishing is good.  Clear skies and 60+ degree weather. The water temperature was between 48-51 degrees and Stained.
