Colorado Stream Update: From Blue Mesa to Almont, the Gunny is fishing lights out right now!

Current Conditions at Gunnison:

Bring the split shots because most fish are being caught sub-surface right now. Brown #18 Two-Bit Hookers, peach colored peg-eggs, and gray #18 RSIIs are all working great under a strike indicator. Target deeper runs and add enough weight to bounce off of the bottom as trout are moving deeper and deeper with the colder nights and colder water temps. Oh, and here is a nice little treat, the Kokanee have moved into the system on their trek up to the East River! When you're fishing for the Kokes add plenty of weight and fish a red San Juan Worm trailed by a red Copper John.

This is one of the best times of year to be on the water! Eggs are everywhere in the water and the fish bite is on! You will catch the majority of the fish on an egg and mayfly combo.  The fishing is fantastic.  Clear skies and 60+ degree weather. The water temperature was between 44-47 degrees and Crystal Clear.
