Colorado Stream Update: By mid-day the Eagle near Gypsum is very off-color due to warm weather creating run-off conditions up river.

Current Conditions at Eagle:

As long as this warm spell continues we will continue to see off-colored conditions on the Eagle. While this has certainly slowed fishing down, its not all doom and gloom. This has pushed trout to the banks and has them holding in soft pocket water, so once you find one fish, keep hitting that hole because more likely than not there are going to be many trout stacked in there! Girdle Bugs and SJ Worms are great lead flies in this dirty water and then trail that with small Midges and Mayfly patterns. You can also get away with fishing 4x tippet in dirty water.

Mayflies are beginning to get active and are quickly becoming the preferred food. For a productive nymph combo try fishing an egg and then trail a midge or mayfly behind.  The fishing is fair.  Clear skies and 60+ degree weather. The water temperature was between 36-39 degrees and Off-Color.
