Colorado Stream Update: The Lower C is pumping at close to 4,000 cfs right now!

Current Conditions at Lower Colorado:

The water is high and off-color but fishing hasn't completely turned off. Girdle Bugs and San Juan Worms are working great when fished very close to the banks. Takes are pretty subtle when nymphing so keep setting that hook and make sure and have plenty of weight on your rig. If you're gonna chuck meat, again keep your presentations close to the bank and use white Zoo Cougars.

The weather has been warm and the water is beginning to rise. For better fishing it is now time to hit your favorite Colorado tail water. Try big flashy stoneflies (size 8-12) and bright San Juan Worms (size 10-16). Despite the high water the bugs are still active we are even seeing fish rising in some of the slower eddies and seams and fishing trips have been superb.  The fishing is fair.  Clear skies and 52-55 degree weather. The water temperature was between 36-39 degrees and Stained.
