Colorado Stream Update: Still at a very manageable flow, the Williams Forks is a top destination on the Western Slope.

Current Conditions at Williams Fork:

The Williams Fork is on fire right now! Nymphing a three fly rig of a Phaesant Tail trailed by JuJu Baetis and RSIIs is working well until the mid-day hatch when trout start feeding on BWOs off of the surface. At this point a well drifted Parachute Adams will get the job done nicely! Trout here are beginning to feed more and more in skinny riffles, along seams, and the tail outs of riffles so concentrate your efforts on those types of water.

Mayflies are beginning to get active and are quickly becoming the preferred food. Blue Winged Olive mayflies and an assortment of other small brown and olive mayflies are everywhere! For a good chance at hooking a big fish try dead drifting mayfly patterns. The key to catching fish is to read the water and predict just where the fish will be holding.   The fishing is great.  Clear skies and 56-59 degree weather. The water temperature was between 44-47 degrees and Crystal Clear.
