Colorado Stream Update: The recent warm weather in the region has opened up Bear Creek to a nice fishable flow.

Current Conditions at Bear Creek:

In spite of the brutally cold weather the region currently finds itself in right now, Bear Creek near Morisson and Lair O' the Bear is open and the fish are feeding. Brown and red SJ Worms are working great as lead flies, trailed by small Zebra Midges. Trout are holding in the deepest and slowest water they can find as the water temps here are still quite cold. Guides are reporting that all fish are coming in on standard two fly nymph rigs on 5x tippet.

Our local streams close to Denver and Boulder are producing great fly fishing days. Spring is here and it’s time to grab the rod and head for the mountains and foothills!  The fishing is slow.  Overcast skies and 20-23 degree weather. The water temperature was between 32-35 degrees and Crystal Clear.
