Colorado Stream Update: With the warm weather the valley has received over the past week the Roaring Fork is on fire right now!

Current Conditions at Roaring Fork:

From Basalt down through Glenwood Springs, the RF is fishing exceptionally well right now. There are a tremendous amount of Golden Stoneflies in the drift so 20 Inchers and Two-Tone Golden Stonefly patterns are great lead flies on your nymph rig. Trail your Stonefly pattern with smaller Prince Nymphs and Two-Bit Hookers, which do a good job of imitating Baetis insects. We've also seen decent BWO hatches on warm days. Expect good BWO hatches to continue as long as the warm weather holds up-- remember the water temperature needs to heat up to the low-mid 40s for the Baetis to really start hatching through the water column. #18 BWO Comparaduns and Parachute Adams are getting those surface feeders to net on overcast days.

The fishing is great.  Clear skies and 52-55 degree weather. The water temperature was between 40-43 degrees and Crystal Clear.
