Colorado Stream Update: There are some new obstacles in the river in the C&R section due to January's avalanche but fishing remains solid here on the Taylor.

Current Conditions at Taylor:

Beatis nymphs are in the drift right now-- small brown Two-Bit Hookers are doing a great job of imitating these insects-- but we haven't seen any hatching activity yet as the water temperature is still too cold. On the other hand, midges continue to hatch throughout the day so come prepared to fish size #24 Top Secrets and D-Midges on small tippet. 6x fluorocarbon will get the vast majority of hookups here, but we encourage all anglers to use 5x fluorocarbon tippet as it is easier to get the big boys to net on 5x, and therefore will cut down on the inadvertent fish kill from fighting a fish for too long.

The fishing is good.  Clear skies and 44-47 degree weather. The water temperature was between 36-39 degrees and Crystal Clear.
