Colorado Stream Update: There are a lot of spawning beds (Redds) on the Arkansas Tail Water right so please do not fish to those spawning trout.

Current Conditions at Arkansas:

The Arkansas Tail Water in Pueblo was on fire today! This is primarily a Rainbow fishery and as it is right now, the 'Bows are already in spawning mode. Redds, or spawning beds, are all over the river so please do not step on any of them or fish to any trout that are over/near them. A Redd can be spotted because it is a clear gravel patch that looks like a someone went through with a broom to the river bed and cleared it of all debris. Black Pheasant Tails, Mercury RSIIs, and purple JuJu Baetis all are the best Mayfly patterns to use right now. Even with the warmer water of late, trout are still in winter holding water so target deep, slow moving water.

The fishing is fantastic.  Overcast skies and 60+ degree weather. The water temperature was between 40-43 degrees and Crystal Clear.
