Colorado Stream Update: The water is low and clear but now is a great time to go out and fish with a dry-dropper on the St. Vrain!

Current Conditions at Saint Vrain:

The baetis life cycle is in full swing on the St. Vrain through Lyons right now. Copper Johns and Prince Nymphs are working great sub-surface imitating the baetis nymphs while a traditional adult Blue Wing Olive on the surface is inducing a lot of takes as well. As these trout start to turn on their metabolisms from their winter hibernation, early spring on the St Vrain is a great place to get your line wet and catch a few while you're at it.

Our local streams close to Denver and Boulder are producing great fly fishing days. The water is low and clear and the fish are hungry. Fly fishing trips have been great. March is a great time of year for fly fishing! Take advantage of the sunny days most rivers are ice free and the trout bite is on!  The fishing is fair.  Clear skies and 48-51 degree weather. The water temperature was between 36-39 degrees and Crystal Clear.
