Colorado Stream Update: Boating will open up to the public on 03/01/2017, until then, fishing from the North Ramp is your best bet.

Current Conditions at Chatfield State Park:

Fly fishing here is ok at the moment, with a lot of fish holding in deeper water than we can access with a fly rod, but there are the occasional feeders coming into shallow flats as well. A variety of streamer patterns are inducing takes, but the key is to retrieve them at a very slow pace. Fish your streamer pattern as if you were fishing a jig-- so give it that wiggle with the tip of your rod-- and this will also help in fooling these fish.

Make sure bring a quality pair of glasses to cut the glare from the snow and sun.  The fishing is fair.  Clear skies and 44-47 degree weather. The water temperature was between 32-35 degrees and Crystal Clear.
